CAPTIVE CARE INFORMATION
FOR THE PERU SUN LIZARD

Common Name: Peru Sun Lizard
Distribution: South America
Size: 3" to 6"

TEMPERATURE
Provide a temperature range of between 75-80 during the day time with a
basking area temperature of about 90 degrees. Provide a temperature of
68-70 during the night time.

FEEDING REQUIREMENTS
As insectivores, this species feeds Mainley on crickets and mealworms,
a dusting every other feed of a good Vitamin/Calcium Supplement is
recommended (we use Medivet Repton). The young should be fed once a
day, Adults should be fed every other day. The food offered should be
about 1/3 the size of the lizard's head, no bigger.

HABITAT
Vivarium size Length 30" x Hight 18" x Width 12". Use a sandy substrate.
Give them several climbing areas rocks, logs, branches, plants. Make
sure you leave place's for them to hide. Use full spectrum UVA/UVB
lighting 8-12 hours per day. Provide a hot basking spot with access
to a cooler area.

WATER REQUIREMENTS
Provide Fresh drinking water at least every other day.
Although this species is a desert dweller, the habitat should not become too
arid. A good misting every morning should keep the humidity at a moderate
level, around 30% is what you are aiming for.

COMPATIBILITY
Males can become very territorial, Keep apart from other Lizards unless
you intend to breed them.
